DETAILED ITINERARY:

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL VALLEY - TACHEDIRT VALLEY:

Leave Marrakech after breakfast and drive to Imlil valley at 1740m, passing through Tahnaout & Asni. Imlil serves as the primary trailhead for trekkers in the Toubkal National Park. Here, we meet our mule team, and once all our gear is loaded, we begin walking through a side valley heading eastwards towards Tacheddirt, approximately 8 km away. Initially, the trail ascends as we climb up to the pass of Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m). Afterward, we descend on the far side to the charming village of Ouaneskra (2200m) in the Imenane Valley. We then continue gently upriver for another half-hour to Tacheddirt (2300m), where we set up camp near the riverside. The transfer takes approximately 1.5 hours, and the walking time is around 5 hours.

DAY 2: TACHEDIRT VILLAGE - TIMICHI BERBER VILLAGE:

We ascend steeply out of Tacheddirt up to Tizi n’Tacheddirt (3172m), enjoying lovely views back to the Imenane Valley. From the pass, we descend through the village of Iabbassene to reach Timichchi (2000m) near the head of the Ourika Valley. Here, we spend the night in a Berber gîte. The walking duration is approximately 7 hours.

DAY 3: TIMICHI - TO SETTI FATMA, OURIKA VALLEY - MARRAKECH:

Today, we embark on a gentle walk from Timichchi to Setti Fadma (1700m). Along the way, we pass through a series of Berber villages lining the banks of the Ourika Valley: first Tiourdiou, then Anfli, and later Tadrart. After lunch, we continue our journey via Agadir n’Aït Boulmane and proceed to the center of Setti Fadma. If time permits, we will visit a charming waterfall above Setti Fadma before returning to Marrakech. The walking duration is approximately 4 to 5 hours, and the transfer time is about 1.5 hours.

RECOMMENDED TREKKING & HIKING EQUIPMENT:

For your trekking we recommend sleeping Bag, day-pack , sunglasses , water bottles : most of the time is possible to buy during the trek from villages, towel, ziplock baggies, needle and thread - safety, pins, camera, batteries. Clothing, sarong (can double as a towel, lightweight sheet or scarf), cotton long sleeved shirt (for intense sun), light wind-proof jacket, a hat (sun), lightweight long pants, 2-3 T-shirts, woolen sweater/fleece, cotton, scarf (doubles as a wash cloth), Hiking boots or hiking shoes, disinfectant creme / gel (Polysporin), bandaids, Ibufrofen (Advil or generic - for pain, swelling), Tylenol (colds and fever), cold medication - Echanacia / zinc lozenges, tweezers, Visine, Aloe vera gel (for burns), Anti-hystamine tablets, diahrrea medication (Immodium) * sunblock * sanitary supplies with ziplock baggies to carry out moisturiser / lip balm with sunblock * book small torch / flash-light (small bicycle lights make good travelling torches) nail clippers wet-wipes soap / shampoo / toothpaste / toothbrush etc ..
