DETAILED ITINERARY:

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - IMLIL - REFUGE TOUBKAL :

After a transfer to the quaint village of Imlil, our trek begins. We venture along the Maizane Valley, passing through Armed village and reaching the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. Continuing eastward, we navigate mule tracks and ascend into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the river, we arrive at the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, a draw for tourists and pilgrims alike. The trail then steadily ascends, winding its way up to the snowline and Toubkal Refuge (3206m), our stop for the night. The trek lasts approximately 4 to 5 hours.

DAY 2: REFUGE TOUBKAL - TOUBKAL SUMMIT - IMLIL - MARRAKECH:

In the early morning, we embark on our ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our path leads us through the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. While the terrain is mostly straightforward, the altitude and ruggedness of the terrain may pose challenges at times. Nevertheless, the panoramic views along the journey make the trek immensely rewarding. Upon reaching the summit, you'll be greeted by breathtaking vistas stretching across the surrounding landscape. The scenery encompasses the Marrakesh Plain to the north, the High Atlas mountains, and extends southward to the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara Desert. Retracing our steps, we descend the mountain and make our way back to Imlil before concluding our journey in Marrakech.

RECOMMENDED TREKKING & HIKING EQUIPMENT:

For your trekking we recommend sleeping Bag, day-pack , sunglasses , water bottles : most of the time is possible to buy during the trek from villages, towel, ziplock baggies, needle and thread - safety, pins, camera, batteries. Clothing, sarong (can double as a towel, lightweight sheet or scarf), cotton long sleeved shirt (for intense sun), light wind-proof jacket, a hat (sun), lightweight long pants, 2-3 T-shirts, woolen sweater/fleece, cotton, scarf (doubles as a wash cloth), Hiking boots or hiking shoes, disinfectant creme / gel (Polysporin), bandaids, Ibufrofen (Advil or generic - for pain, swelling), Tylenol (colds and fever), cold medication - Echanacia / zinc lozenges, tweezers, Visine, Aloe vera gel (for burns), Anti-hystamine tablets, diahrrea medication (Immodium) * sunblock * sanitary supplies with ziplock baggies to carry out moisturiser / lip balm with sunblock * book small torch / flash-light (small bicycle lights make good travelling torches) nail clippers wet-wipes soap / shampoo / toothpaste / toothbrush etc ..
